Jonzun Crew-Old School Wednesday

Jonzun Crew was a seminal electro group, led by Michael Jonzun and featuring his brothers Maurice Starr and Soni Jonzun, and also featuring Carl, aka Captain Fingers. Their most famous tracks, from the debut album, were “Pack Jam (Look out for the OVC)” and “Space Cowboy.” Other notable tracks include “We Are the Jonzun Crew” and “Ground Control.” In 1986, Michael Jonzun left the group to pursue a solo career.[citation needed]

“Pack Jam (Look out for the OVC)” was often played in the background, during the early '80s, while the rundown of top hits in Germany were observed in the German-language Top Hits show "Formel Eins".

JR In The Favelas Of Rio

I've been fan of JR for years, but this latest project, shot in the favelas of Rio is our favorite. The manner in which the photographs blend in with the landscape is absolutely stunning. Wow!

One Day As a Lion

I am hella stoked that Zack de la Rocha has a new thing going on. He's playing vocals and keyboard, while Jon Theodore on the drums. It's a perfect sound. The time era is perfect. Recession, war, revolution and history. Rage was revolutionary! I will never forget the democratic convention in 2000. Tear gas, rubber bullets and Rage.

ALBUM OUT NOW!!

About One Day As A Lion.

“One Day As A Lion is both a warning delivered and a promise kept.”

“A defiant affirmation of the possibilities that exist in the space between kick and snare. It’s a sonic reflection of the visceral tension between a picturesque fabricated cultural landscape, and the brutal socioeconomic realities it attempts to mask. One Day As A Lion is a recorded interaction between Zack de la Rocha and Jon Theodore from Los Angeles, California.”

“The name taken from the infamous 1970 black and white, captured by legendary Chicano photographer George Rodriguez featuring a center framed tag on a white wall in an unspecified section of Boyle Heights. It reads: ‘It’s better to live one day as a lion, than a thousand years as a lamb.’ This record is a stripped down attempt to realize this sentiment in sound.”
